coil is the tool working tattooers and shops run their day on. It was built with Dead Ahead Tattoo in Nashville, co-founded by its owner Brandon Henderson, and every week it gets better because tattooers using it say what's in the way.
What we believe
Tools should pay the artist back.
Most booking software funds itself by skimming deposits, tips or balances. coil doesn't. The $100 deposit your client pays is $100 in your account. We charge a flat $59 a month, and if coil isn't worth that, we don't deserve the seat.
Your page follows you.
Tattooers move chairs: another shop, solo, a new city. Your web address, work, clients and reviews go with you every time, so a shop never has to hold your career hostage to keep you.
Plain words.
You read coil every day and your clients read what it sends. Both should sound like a person. We say tattooer, not tattoo artist, and if a word came out of a sales deck it doesn't make it in.
No AI imagery. Ever.
coil uses AI where it helps you: reading a healing photo, reading a request against your work. It never makes flash, fake portfolio shots or marketing pictures. Every image on coil is real work by a real tattooer.
Who builds it
Small team. No investors.
No venture money and no growth team pushing things the trade doesn't need. Features ship when tattooers and shop owners tell us about a real problem, and they get fixed fast when something breaks.
