Partner program

Partner terms.

Last updated · October 29, 2026

These terms cover coil's partner program, run by Coil Tattoo, Inc. (“coil”). By joining you agree to them and to coil's Terms of service. Questions: hello@coil.tattoo.

Who can join

Anyone 18 or older. You don't need to use coil. coil can turn down or remove any partner, for example for breaking these terms.

What you earn

When a tattooer or shop joins coil with your link or your code and pays for a plan, you earn the amount of their first and third monthly payments. For a yearly plan, you earn two twelfths of its payment, once.

Only regular plan payments count: not partial charges when a shop changes its chair count, and not amounts refunded or credited back. They get 2 months free for using your link or code.

Who counts as yours

  • Your link counts for 90 days after someone opens it.
  • A code typed at sign-up counts over any link.
  • Each new account has one partner. coil's records decide who it is.
  • Your own account, accounts you own or run, accounts paid with your card, and people already on coil don't count.

Teams

  • A company can add people who share coil for it, like drivers or reps, as its team. Each gets their own link, code and cards.
  • The company accepts these terms for everyone it adds and makes sure they follow “How you share coil.” Add only people who agreed to be on your team.
  • The company picks who is paid for its team's links: the company, or each person. A change counts from the next payment that earns.
  • When the company is paid, earnings from a team member's link belong to the company.
  • The company can pause someone. Their link stops working, and what it already brought in still counts.

Getting paid

  • Each earning is paid 14 days after the payment it comes from, on its own.
  • You're paid through Stripe to your bank (Stripe's terms apply, and Stripe collects your bank and tax details), or, if you pay for coil yourself, as credit on your coil bill.
  • Until you pick how to get paid, your earnings wait for you. coil emails you while they do.
  • If a payment you earned from is refunded or charged back, that amount comes off your later earnings.
  • coil can hold or take back earnings it reasonably believes came from fraud or from breaking these terms.

How you share coil

  • Say you're paid. Anywhere you share your link or code, make clear you earn money if people join, for example #ad or “I earn a referral fee.” The Federal Trade Commission requires it.
  • Be honest about what coil does and costs. Don't promise what coil doesn't offer.
  • No spam, and no messages to people who haven't agreed to hear from you.
  • Don't run ads on searches for coil or coil.tattoo, and don't present yourself as coil or its staff.
  • Follow the rules of the apps and sites you post on.

Taxes

You're an independent partner, not coil's employee, and your earnings are your income to report. If coil pays you $2,000 or more in a year, you get a Form 1099 through Stripe.

Changes and leaving

coil can change or end the program. We'll update this page and email you before a change that affects what you earn. Money you've already earned stays yours. You can stop being a partner any time by emailing hello@coil.tattoo.
